Research areas:
We do basic research to elucidate cardiac pacemaker mechanisms.
Our main focus is on cardiac ion channels such as HCN-channels/If-current, L-type calcium channels and ryanodine receptors. Techniques that we use include in-vivo ECG and blood pressure recordings of small rodents (knockout mouse models), electrophysiology on cardiomyocytes/sinoatrial node cells and transfected HEK293-cells, and various molecular-biological methods.
